Elliott Gonzo directs an utterly riveting performance video in a sci-fi setting for the mighty Muse.
Gonzo's VFX-drenched video for the veteran rock outfit's pulsating Cryogen, is set on Europa, Jupiter’s ice moon, with the band in conventional threepiece performance set-up, and in piledriving mood from the first seconds, as frontman Matt Bellamy delivers an ingeniously complex but catchy guitar riff.
Against infinite frozen vistas, blood-red rivers and a towering crimson waterfall, Muse perform as a mysterious ring-shaped soundwave object emerges beneath the ice, suggesting contact with a higher intelligence somewhere between alien signal, technology and cosmic myth.
At its heart, it's demonstrates how this band are still an incredibly powerful unit, a three-man machine that deliver to rock power to the max. In other words -Â a classic Muse video.
