Zhang & Knight's video for Meryem Aboulouafa establishes a distinctive mood all of its own - part-Arabic, part-surrealist - to create a wonderfully evocative video for the Moroccan singer-songwriter's song Deeply.   

The staging is a stylish set, based on an architecture of courtyards and quadrangles found in North Africa and across the Mediterranean, rendered in serene pastel shades. But within the quadrangle, crowded with people, there is another square  - a hole into which dancers teeter and then fall...  

Aboulouafa is the elegant centre in this haunting scenario, who eventually looks into the hole and reveals its otherworldly secret. The first video by Hannah Palumbo and Linden Feng - aka Zhang & Knight - since joining Birth for French representation is one of their most exquisite.
