Rianne White directs a bold conceptual promo for her second collaboration with Ellie Goulding. 

Spanning breathtaking set builds, dynamic boxing setups and opulent styling, the genre-bending concept is an action-packed dive into new territory for Goulding. 

The use of choreography and movement throughout the setup explores the idea of togetherness and identity. And the explosive action of the boxing balances nicely with the more fluid and uniform dance setups. 

DoP Rina Yang contrasts luxurious gold lighting and water refractions with clinical blues and punchy silhouettes, elevating the aesthetic and helping to give each scene its own unique look.

This evolved from a place of emotional liberation that Ellie and I explored in Flux, our first project together.

"Love I’m Given is the beating anthemic heart of change that inspires a place of strength and unity, not only to the way in which we see each other, but the personal journey of enlightenment within ourselves.

"This track resonated with me deeply and feels like a pivotal moment within the landscape of today, supporting the feeling of reflection and growth. Evolving from a place of emotional liberation that Ellie and I explored in Flux - our first project together - it was the feeling of honesty that inspired the modes of physical expression in Love I’m Given.

"I was drawn to creating a circular set that could drive an abstract representation of the eye of the storm elevated above a body of water, containing a performative equilibrium of emotion expressed by Ellie within the track.

"Accented by the electric liberation and explosive quality of boxing, the core theme of female empowerment resonates across movement between Ellie and dancers; Asmara Cammock, Federica Somma & Georgia Amodu Curtis. Symbolic parallels within their physicality, profound beauty and versatility of strength are connected by powerful motif sequences devised by Remi Black that uplift the voice of diversity, togetherness and love.
