Four hopeful actors audition for the role of a lifetime, in Slane's touching promo for Rhys Lewis.Â
Showing the lead up to - and the eventual fallout from - an awkward casting session, we follow the journeys of four very different characters, with Lewis taking on one of the roles.Â
A flurry of chaotic poses, faux-fight scenes and strange facial expressions ensues, with none of the character getting the role. In the end, they all head out to the city as a group, and live out their superhero fantasies together.Â
Comedic and heartfelt, it's a great little video that ends on an optimistic note.
"Creating the world for this video was a lot of fun," says Slane. "A cast of superheroes was the key part of the brief. So I came up with four superhero characters and developed their backstories, superpowers and costumes, paying homage to Kick-Ass.
"Taking inspiration from 80's TV shows, Rhys and I came up with [superhero team] The Midnight and worked backwards to create this fun video of four failed audition tapes. Concept to delivery happened in record time, so big shout to Pilar at Papaya and the amazing cast and crew."
