Jim Wilmot has directed three live performance promos for The 1975 for VEVO, all shot by DoP Rick Joaquim, including for Part Of The Band.
Filmed in a studio space, we see the group atop a sand-drenched stage, backdropped by vibrant cloud landscapes. Joaquim imbues the video with a classic, cinematic aesthetic, bringing out the rich textures in the art direction and highlighting the drama of the performance.Â
Matching the melancholic themes of the track, the cinematography is intentional and intimate, letting the performance unfold in a natural, organic way.Â
