Indie folk duo Lilo carry their broken tandem bike across country fields in Michael Upson's meditative promo for their song Cycling.

It's the aftermath of a bad accident, with the band's Christie and Helen bearing the evidence in facial cuts and grazes as well as the mangled bicycle they are carrying. Leaning into the sense of uncertainty in the lyrics, the simple yet strong visual idea also allies with a sense of calmness and reflection after a traumatic episode. 

Filmed in and around Bradwell-on-sea in Essex, the relaxed pacing of the visuals here reflects the mood. And there's a lovely twist at the end...

Upson explains that the project was turned around in rapid time. "Shot on Saturday and released the following Wednesday - nuts," he says.

"Keeping the idea simple, having a brilliant crew and being very lucky with how accommodating Bubble were with post is the only way it was possible to pull off in such a short time on such a small budget."
