METTE 'Anxious To Love You' by Andre Muir

Rob Ulitski - 4th Mar 2026

Andre Muir directs an evocative, gritty visual for METTE, shot predominantly in stark black and white, with the singer and dancer finding her way through an imaginative expression of anxiety.

The video for Anxious To Love You captures METTE moving through a gritty urban alleyway as smoke swells, debris scatters, and the camera moves restlessly around her. As we have seen in her previous standout videos, including Mama's Eyes and Bet, METTE is in constant motion. But here the atmosphere is heavier that previously - she is alone and exposed.

Infused with raw, unfiltered choreography, the video builds in emotional intensity and visual energy. With rapid camera work, the visual language amplifies an anxiety made physical through movement. And as the video progresses, both the emotional intensity and visual energy escalate.

Ultimately there is transition from monochrome into colour that signals a subtle but powerful shift that seemingly moves METTE from confinement to release. Stripped back yet cinematically expansive, Muir's video is a bold and intimate study into the chaos, beauty and fragility of loving on the edge.
