Finnish directors Henna Välkky and Samuel Häkkinen direct a slick, hyper-vibrant promo for Finland-based American performer Chachi. The video for Cherry Cake was created with all in-camera effects - no post production aside from basic colour correction - an approach that's reflected on-screen with a feverish amalgam of hallucinatory textures, live feedback loops and geometric art direction. "The main inspiration for the video was Chachi’s incredible dancing and energetic personality," explain Välkky and Häkkinen. "We wanted the visuals to frame this front and centre, but in an interesting and stylish way."We’ve always loved experimenting with in-camera effects and lo-fi analog video art. With the virtual studio background and the opportunity to build bigger set pieces, we went all in with a huge mirror plated kaleidoscope as the main set for the video."With Chachi dancing inside the kaleidoscope, we filled the background with abstract animations and sometimes feeding the live image from the camera back to the screen, creating an infinite video loop. We also had another camera, a retro MiniDV camcorder that we used to shoot Chachi from a different angle. Then we fed that footage behind her inside an old school television frame."

Luis Hindman directs a kaleidoscopic promo for Master Peace, the second of three videos he's directed for the South London musician. The frenetic, colour-soaked video for Veronica sees the artist take an interest in the song's namesake, spotting her at a club before seeing spiralling into a Y2K-inspired fever dream. The name Veronica starts to appear everywhere - on bottles, necklace pendants and even a pack of cigarettes - and before long, the whole room has warped into a series of fluid textures and uncanny forms. Shot on 16mm, the video has a gritty yet vibrant aesthetic, with a truly trippy vibe throughout. A fine follow-up to the equally vibrant and energetic video Hindman directed for Country Life.

BRTHR direct a breathtaking, hypnotic promo for Grimes' Shinigami Eyes, as she takes another bold leap forward in mythological-infused imagery. In the unmistakably sensory and surreal style that directing duo of Alex Lee and Kyle Wightman are renowned, the video is a relentless clash of visual effects, live action performance and slick transitions - and features Grimes in the middle of a kaleidoscopic otherworld.Swordfights and archery make an appearance - continuing the thread of previous video Player of Games - and Korean pop royalty Jennie Kim of BLACKPINK even gets a cameo in one performance setup.It's an absolutely mesmerising to watch, and the artist otherwise known as Claire Boucher is clearly a brilliant match for BRTHR's visual aesthetic. She's come a long way since that video - now nearly ten years ago - for Oblivion.
